Apart from the beach qualities, the island is also full of cedars trees as old as 300 years. 

Hvar Island:

Hvar Island in Croatia is regarded as a jewel of the Dalmatian Islands. Hvar Island has been an important port for the Greeks, Romans, and Byzantines. Cabrera Spain:

Alonissos is a remote island in the Northern Sporades. Alonissos is home to the National Marine Park of Northern Sporades, a refuge for rare seabirds, dolphins, and the Mediterranean monk seal. The Cretans introduced winemaking at this island. To date, the local Alonissos wine remains excellent.

Susak Sansego at Croatia: 

Sansego! Does it ring any bell, pizza lovers? Yes! Sansego means oregano which grows in abundance on the island. If you are looking for plenty of sunshine, endless blue waters, wine, and fresh fish, Susak Sanego will not disappoint you. A ferry ride from Mali Losinj, the island of Susak, is situated in the Northern Adriatic.

Everyone's heard of Bali, Indonesia, but there are three little remote islands. Each island has its own unique appeal. Gili Air, Gili Trawangan, and Gili Meno- that harkens back to what Phi Phi Island in Thailand used to be like. Popular among backpackers, the Gili Islands sits off the coast of Lombo and is known for its party scene, coral reefs, and beaches.

If you are looking for an adventurous Mediterranean island vacation, Cephalonia Island in Greece would be the right one. It is situated in the heart of an earthquake zone.
