Galway is a beautiful urban area in all of Ireland and is a popular destination for travellers. It is considered as one of the safest and most relaxed cities in Ireland. Galway is a charming city with a vibrant atmosphere, an ideal place to relax, explore different unique places. The pubs and traditional live music scene has made Galway the best entertainment city in Ireland.

Galway Places to visit: 


The fastest flowing river in Europe is The River Corrib. It may seem small and relatively normal, but it’s the fastest flowing river in all of Europe. So grab a seat by the banks and relax to the sound of rushing water.

The Aran Islands Galway: 


A trip to Galway is not complete without a visit to the Aran Islands. A tour to the Islands off the coast of Galway is like walking back in time down the small stone wall lined roads, beautiful cottages and wonderful limestone landscapes. Aran Island consists of three islands, Inis Mhor (the largest Island), Inis Meain (Middle island) and Inis Oirr (the smallest island). The story goes like this that two giants were fighting and throwing rocks on each other. One of the giants threw a rock that fell into the sea and broke apart to become Aran Island.

Watch the Buskers: Galway is known for its buskers, and they can be found all down shops, street throughout the day, from musician to bands to dancers you never know what you will find. So be sure to stop and watch for a while. It’s one of the easiest and best things to do in Galway.

The Macnas Parade is a one-day parade that happens in October and is the main celebration of Halloween time in Galway.

The popular weekend market surrounding St.Nicholas Church in the center of Galway is colorful, aromatic, and a musical place to indulge. It is a great place to pick a truly unique gift.

Galway’s market: for some local flavor and a bit of a Bohemian vibe head to Galway market, a favorite of both tourists, and residents for produce, food, and crafts.

Galway has beautiful beaches close to the city. The closest beach to Galway is Salt hill.

Salt hill Beach is made up of several small beaches separated by rocky or grassy out drops. Something unique in this beach is that it is made up of sand and pebbles. Salt hill beach is located on the edge of the Galway city. The beach is accompanied by a long promenade which is very popular with walkers and runners. There are three beaches connected to these beaches. The largest and most popular is the Ladies Beach where they have their very own hut serving coffee ice-cream and treats. Salt hill beach has been a blue flag beach and enormously popular in fine weather during summer.

Dog’s bay/Gurteen bay beaches: Dog’s bay is a spectacular horseshoe-shaped bay with more than a mile-long stretch of white sandy beach, similar Gurteen bay the sand is made entirely of fragments of seashells which give it a pure white color. Both these beaches are considered safe for swimming and other water sports such as windsurfing and kite surfing.

Other amazing beaches are White Strand Beach, Renvyle, Tra a Doilin Coral beach Carraroe, Dumhnach Beach, Inishbofin Island, Kilmurvey Beach, Inis Mor, and Silver Strand Beach.
