The Isle of Wight is situated just off England’s south coast and just 2 hours from London. It is known as UK’s Holiday Island and Dinosaur Capital of Great Britain. The Isle of Wight is a nice place for grown-ups too with lots of interesting and romantic spots for single people or honeymooning couples. Isle of Wight is beautiful throughout the year. This island is great to bring along your family for a holiday and weekend getaways.

Having a wide variety of things to do on the Isle of Wight during your holiday, you won’t be able to visit everything at one go. You’ll have to make another trip again. The beaches are perfect for long, windswept dog walks or even a horseback ride.

Festivals: whether it’s a smooth jazz, club classics, live poetry or yoga workshop that float your ferry, you can catch across from the mainland to one of this island’s renowned music and arts festivals.

Upcoming Events like the Isle of Wight walking festival that is during the month of May 4th to May 19 th where they take part in one of the UK’s longest running and walking festivals. You discover unique routes with experienced local walkers.

June 13- June 16 is Isle of Wight Festival 2019. After celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2018 Isle of Wight Festival is back for another weekend of great music, family fun and hopefully sunshine. Acts over the 50 years have included Jimmie Hendrix, The Doors, and Fleetwood Mac, Coldplay etc.

Adventure activities such as tree climbing, paragliding or sailing with knowledgeable guides or sit back and watch the experts do it with several top class events taking place through the year, there are plenty of water sports to get involved in throughout the year. From surfing to kayaking, swimming to windsurfing, there is something for every mermaid over on the Isle of Wight. Try paddle boarding and sailing too. There really is nothing like a bracing. There are number of golf courses many which are set against picturesque backdrops, making it the perfect place for a golf weekend break or holiday.

Stunning cliffs: The Isle of Wight cliffs offer jaw dropping views not to be missed. A gulp of sea air and marvellous views make this unforgettable.

It is suggested to get around the Isle of Wight is by car. It is very flexibile and lets you see the sights at your own pace and can also stop where you want for sightseeing or photo opportunities. From long winding roads with plenty to see to the hills which give stunning views of the surroundings, the Isle of Wight has too much to offer when travelling by road. Why not fill up a picnic hamper with some of the delightful local foods available across the Island and then take yourself on a magical tour of the island- stopping for a break and a bite to eat in some areas of outstanding natural beauty.

If interested to explore the marvels of the natural coastlines, discover the Needles rock formations, the Trinity lighthouse, the multicoloured sands and Alum Bay’s cliff faces then head to the South Western tip of the Isle of Wight. For a truly unique scenic view glide from the top of the cliff to the beach below in the Island’s renowned suspended chairlift. The sea is stunning of course but hop aboard a boat tour around the Needles and you’ll be just blown away by the close up views of the rock formations and then wider vantage point of the vibrant cliffs.

Explore Cowes: Our first stop on the Isles of Wight is the town of Cowes, where we would suggest you to stroll. Cowes has lots of shops and eateries and is where the annual Coves week sailing regatta takes place. It is one of the largest sailing events in the world. One of the favourite places to eat is the HK cafe Bar and Bistro found right on the high street which has a great selection of tasty, locally sourced options.

Wildlife experience: get closer to nature by enjoying a countryside walk, where you will find a whole host of local wildlife including red squirrels and some unique butterfly species. Let’s not forget that the Isle of Wight is one of the richest places in Europe for Dinosaur heritage.

There are many shopping centers for those looking for some retail therapy. The artistic heritage of the Island means that there are plenty of arts and crafts outlets, selling everything from handcrafted jewellery to sculptured glass and wood carvings. There is also a locally produced food and drink available with local restaurants. Farm shops and the weekly Farmers market cater for all your needs.
Accommodation on the Isle of Wight is just as unique as the Island itself, whether you spend a night in a Yurt or book a B&B by the sea. The Isle of Wight offers plenty of choice of a cosy cottage with a pretty thatched roof? Wander around almost any corner of the Isle of Wight and you’ll find postcard perfect homes with colourful gardens.

Getting to the Isle of Wight is by hovercraft or ferry. The closet airport with public flights is at Southampton, although there are airports for private aircraft on the Isle of Wight if that’s how you roll.

When to visit the Isle of Wight: May to September is the best time to visit. The weather is more favourable and most attractions will be open daily.

So pack up along with your family and embark on your voyage of discovery on the Isle of Wight. It’s just a short hop and a skip across the solvent and you’ll be amazed at what’s waiting on the other side.
