Experiencing the Best of the Middle East in Bahrain

 Middle East in Bahrain

The Middle East is a land not flowing with milk and honey, but with gold and oil. And that’s what made the countries around this part of the world thrive. One of these countries is Bahrain, which is one of the best tourist destinations in the Middle East.

What’s great about this nation is that it has a perfect balance of Arab culture and modern living. With more than 5,000 years of human settlement around the region, there’s no doubt that it won’t run out of cool things to do, visit, and experience.

So hop on the ride and together let’s explore Bahrain (at least with this article, for the time being)!

Tree of Life

As much as we want to head directly to the bustling metropolis of Bahrain, it would first make sense to contemplate on the awesomeness of the Tree of Life. Yes, it might sound cheesy at first. But don’t get us wrong because the many adjectives lurking around it stands on firm ground.

Without any source of water or nutrition, this tree still managed to survive, that is — for more than 400 years! This makes it the 7th wonder of nature and is visited by over 50,000 people yearly.

Jebel Al Dukhan

Bahrain is one of the driest places in the world, and that’s what makes it special. Head on to the Jebel Al Dukhan to see for yourself its unique climate. It’s the country’s highest point, standing at 143 meters above sea level. It’s laden with a plethora of caves, nooks, and visually pleasing rock formations. You can also set up camp here and gaze at the sea of stars during midnight.

Bab Al Bahrain

Gold and pearls are rare commodities in the world, but not in Bahrain. Visit the Bab Al Bahrain and you'll be amazed at how rich this country really is. With many high-carat gold pieces of jewelry to choose from, as well as fantasy-looking pearls and historical ornaments, you'll surely have your fill of Middle Eastern culture in here.

You’ll be greeted with an arched gate at the market’s entrance. It’s just like being in Disney’s Aladin. And don’t worry if your knees are trembling after roaming around the entire day. There are lots of five-star hotels nearby.

Bahrain International Circuit

Here’s for the motor-heads out there. The Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir is where Grand Prix, V8 races, and drag racing tournaments are held (to name a few). It has an inner and outer track, a paddock circuit, a Prix track, and oval track, making it a world-class racing venue for the world’s best racers. Talk about burning some rubber in the Arabian sun!

Bahrain National Museum

The Bahrain National Museum in Manama is where the country's 5,000 years of history can be found. Visiting this seeming time capsule gives you the chills as you yourself can feel the glamour of its history by merely looking at the many artifacts around the venue.

With a number of galleries, halls, and shops in the place, you’ll surely find it hard to leave the place (especially if you’re a history buff). There’s even a patio overlooking the sea if you want to reminisce the past — with style!

Al Fateh Grand Mosque

The Al Fateh Grand Mosque is one of the biggest mosques in the world, encompassing 6,500 square meters and capable of welcoming more than 7,000 worshippers. Laden with shimmering Arabian marble and glass, you’ll surely find it awe-inspiring to contemplate on how the ancient Muslim world managed all of its riches.

Back to You

Going to Bahrain isn’t that difficult. In fact, it’s one of the most accessible places in the world thanks to the many flight options available, such as the Jeddah to Bahrain flights and others. It's a place that transcends through time but never fails to ensure your utmost comfort with the latest modern amenities and activities you can indulge in.

Bring a friend or two, get on with a family vacation, or perhaps treat it as your honeymoon getaway. Whichever the case is, you’ll surely be left in awe once you’ve visited wonderful Bahrain.
