4 Dangers Of Traveling and How To Deal With Them

theft
The word on being heard initiates a sense of excitement in the mind. Yes, travelling as defined is a journey with a purpose. But, at times, it is also without one. In each case, there are experiences. Experiences those are glamorous but also dull in some cases. But, if it is your first trip, a quick read in this article might help you to save yourself from the cons of travelling. And if, it is not then also it might aware you against those cons.

I hereby list; four dangers of travelling and alongside also cite the methods of avoidance.

The first, Theft

The tourist destinations are the hubs for robbery. Only because, it attracts huge crowds where sneaking and stealing becomes easy for the thieves. You may not even realise, when a hand will go inside your purse and in a whisk, your money is gone! Grabbing, snatching, and then disappearing in the crowds are common thefts in these destinations. Be it a train or a temple, thefts are inevitable.

To avoid, such theft, lock your luggage where ever you go, the wallet you carry should be in your first pocket and also keep your eyes open. Do have fun but with care.

The second, Scams
Scams are the biggest potholes of travel. If you are in a place for the first time, the agents will go round and round about you until you finally give way to their scam. Now, the scam holders may not be just agents, it maybe something even bigger like legal correspondents: Police. They might charge you fines unnecessarily whereby you might not even know the rule of the place (at times, these police make them up, to charge you). The second scam holders are cab drivers who take you on a tour than taking you directly to your hotel or other destination. Also, vendors charge you more than regular prices. To avoid such pricks, always go after a detailed research not only on the place but also on the surroundings, ambience and people.

The third, The Party Scene

This one might be exclusively for the younger crowds. While travelling for them also means exciting adventurous party scenes. These people often prey to health issues, wallets and also to other dangerous stuff. Too much intake of alcohol can also cause a bad trip for you. To find a way out, always go for parties keeping health factor in mind. Also, partying with strangers or someone you met in the trip can cause unwanted trouble. So, always if you party make sure you at least have someone who is trustworthy, whom you have known for a long time.

The fourth, Getting Lost

There are destinations where GPS fail and the internet takes no chance of making an appearance on your mobile network. It seems that along with you, it is also enjoying a small holiday. Suppose you are on a hill top, with a group of friends and you just get lost due to various reasons. Stop, trace back but if unable to find, don’t wait till it gets dark. Locate any civilization nearby and spot yourself for help. But, to avoid such situations, never zone out to a scenic beauty, always have someone by your side.

Thus, ending on a note of safety, please keep the following points in mind and enjoy an amazing travel because life is short so make it live-worthy!

A Beginner Guide to Cycling Around the World

cycle
A cycling adventure is perhaps the easiest possible method of bringing some spice back into your life. It will not only give you a perfect taste of freedom, but will also entirely change your perception of viewing this world. Explore the destination you’ve always wanted to visit and experience the remote parts of the world, like townships and villages that do not provide guided tours. For a beginner it is always safe to travel in a group with like minded people who are traveling for the purpose of a rewarding experience. Such cycling groups have participants ranging from 20 to 70 years of age.

Tour the world on two wheels

Several cycling tour companies offer travel options to various parts of the world that organize cycling expeditions in smaller groups ranging from 20 to 30 people. Smaller groups minimize environmental impacts, increase the level of safety and preserve the cultural integrity of toured areas. In Morocco the jeep tracks and Kasbahs of High Atlas draw a large amount of mountain bikers from around the world. Other extremely popular cycling tour destinations of the world are France, South Africa, Canada, Scotland, Croatia, Wales, USA, and New Zealand.

A cyclist who is a novice to such adventures must start with a supported tour or operator. There are a variety of companies that offer various types of trips from epic riding journey in Katmandu to gentle beano in Snowdania. Every cycling group also has a mechanic, and novices must try and learn from the mechanic about dealing with unwanted situations like repairing busted tire in the middle of nowhere without any assistance.

This will provide the cyclist with the required confidence for embarking on independent tours. Before, heading off to an independent tour must have the knowledge to adjust brakes and derailleur, replace chain links, repair punctures and change tubes. A cycle is an uncomplicated machine, and to gain knowledge about its various parts is not a difficult or time taking job.

Take care of the essentials

If the beginner is planning to carry his own bike on the journey, it is better to service the various parts of the vehicle prior to the tour. Servicing your own bike is much better than hiring a bicycle, for most of the rented ones are not very well serviced and maintained. It is no longer difficult to carry a bicycle around the world, for various flights allow vehicles to be transported. Some of the flights, regard the bicycle as luggage allowance whereas, others charge a flat fee. Some of the airlines insist on removing the handlers and paddles, and flattening the tyres for convenient packaging.

In such situations you need to take the bike to a local mechanical shop and get the job done at a small rate. An integral part of the cycling tour is opting for the right clothing. Lycra shorts, gloves, helmets, soft but covered shoes helps easy body movement and offers comfort, and thus cyclists will be able to embark on a long journey without worrying about uneasiness and irritation.

5 Things To Expect When You're In The World's Famous Destinations

street_food
It is often said, “To awaken alone in a strange town is one of the pleasantest sensations in the world. “

Be it the sunlit mountains, the deep jungles, the rapid waterfalls, splendid beaches, every place would always have something in common. Something every traveler faces and some basic notions every traveler should have before he starts his journey. Traveling can be very refreshing and a lot of fun but only if you are aware of what to do when you are on your dream trip to the best places in the world. Be it The Table Mountains of Cape Town, Opera house at Sydney, Machu Picchu of Peru, Paris in France or the beaches ofCopacabana in Rio, you need to know certain common things that will make your trip worthwhile. So here is a list of five things you need to keep in mind while travelling to the best places of the world.

Be Patient. Observe Daily Life.

The first thing you need to remember is always be very patient while you are travelling. Observe people, places, nature. Sit somewhere, calm yourself down and just look around you. The place, the serenity, the people walking by, takes down notes at times, click a few pictures. Always remember, the more you observe, the more you fall in love with that place.

Try New Food, Street Food.

Now if you are in a completely new place, this is something mandatory. You need to try the local food and what better than local street food. You can avoid very expensive places. A little research will help you find those small shacks with amazing food at reasonable prices.

Always say “yes” to Hospitality Networks.

What can be better than a home away from home? Trust me when I say that, a hotel or even a resort for that matter can’t provide you with the same experience like that of a homestay. Staying with the people who originally belong to the place, can be such an advantage. You get to know the oldest stories about the place, you know which places to travel and there are very less chances of getting ripped off by shops because you would already have all the information you require. You can even try hostels. You get to meet a lot of other travelers.

Walk when needed, not all the time.

The best way to roam around a place is by walking. But not always. When you have a lot of places to roam around with very little time in hand, you should just go for any transportation but make sure you don’t miss out on those places just because of time crunch. Now, saying that, I would also like to mention, try and avoid cabs because they can be really expensive. Go for public transportation.

Don’t Plan too much, just get lost at times.

It is good to plan a trip, but don’t over plan it. Once you get your basic plan right, you have your traveling map, just loosen yourself a bit and breathe in the new fresh air. Meet some strangers, try something new, walk a few unknown roads, click a few masterpieces, buy some souvenirs. However, while shopping; always remember, in a place with many tourists, shops normally charge higher than market prices. So bargaining would always be a good idea.

Just go with the flow at times, after all it’s a new place! And you know the fun part of being in an unknown place? Nobody knows you, and in all probability, you will never go back to that place. So enjoy yourself to the fullest, and come back with a lot of good memories, pictures and an amazing experience which will last you a lifetime.

I Bet You Didn’t Know These Six Amazing Facts about Moldova

Fort
Bordered by Ukraine on the north south and east, and by Romania on the west, the landlocked country of the republic of Moldova remains influenced by Soviet Union and unfortunately the poorest European country. However the country is a store-house of wonders, and here is taking an extensive look at six amazing facts that sets this country apart from every other country:
  1. Hear me roar: It’s not just the official motto of house Lannister in the very popular television show Game of Thrones, the official currency of Moldova is Leu, which is the same as that of Romania. And interestingly the word Leu translates to lion in English. So be careful during monetary exchanges because, you might just confuse between the Romanian Leu and the Moldovian leu. And even though, most if not all Moldovians are trilingual speaking Romanian, Russian and Gagauz, most of them definitely are bilingual speaking the first two languages effortlessly. And not only does it share its currency with Romania, it also shares its language.
  2. They sure like their booze: On October 3 and 4, wine producers open their homes and vineyards for the masses for the celebration of National Wine Day. Not only can you taste the wine at super cheap rates, they also have transportation facility ferrying you from one site to another to continue your wine revelries. What’s interesting perhaps is that despite being riddled with poverty, with its wine export being thwarted and its wine banned in Russia, Moldovians quickly aim to surpass even Belarus in its alcohol consumption. According to World Health Organisation, inhabitants of Moldova, consume around 17 litres of alcohol each year. No wonder it is the home of the first and second largest wine-cellar in the world.
  3. Home of the cow and the birds: The beefy and protein filled bovines might now be not that conspicuous, but they are sure immortalised albeit on the national flag as the emblem of the country. It features the head of an auroch mounted on a shield placed strategically on the bosom of an eagle holding a cross. Moldova is also the home of over 300 different species of birds. While some reside permanently year-round, some simply pass the country while migrating to warmer climates. Nonetheless it is a pleasure dome for bird watchers.
  4. Eat-drink- and be merry: Moldova might be impoverished, but it knows no bounds when it comes to eating, drinking and being merry. Unlike its neighbour, Russia, which celebrates Christmas in January, Moldovians commence their celebrations from November and celebrate the main event from December 24th to 26th with parties, revelries and gift givings. The moldovians love their music, so much so, that a Romanian ballad about a sheep known as miorita’s first two verses are printed on bank notes.
  5. Home of the gypsies: Soroca is the gypsy capital of the world and if you want the taste of real Moldova get off the cities and explore the countryside.
  6. A relatively new nation: the country found its independence in 1991. And its capital Chisinau was bombed in 1940 by the red army in October 1940. Still it has not been pushed under the radar, rather has emerged as a strong progressing European country albeit not a part of the European Union.

Six Misconceptions People Have About People Who Work While They Travel

map
The words ‘work’ and ‘travel’, if put side by side in a sentence, has enough potential to jar the minds of hiring committees. It would not be wrong to claim that most people of India and abroad are not even aware that the two seemingly contradicting worlds can actually coexist. And even if they know, people are most likely to assume that it’s a life of gleeful freedom, or something out of a fairy tale. Unconventional ideas like this are always subjected to grim criticism and absurd misconceptions. What we, as liberal individuals can do is to terminate the dogmas and taboos frequently attached to people who work while they travel. To name a few of them, here are six misconceptions relating to people who are, at the same time, hardcore careerist and emancipated travellers:

  1. They are laidback
Hardly anyone in the corporate sector is willing to agree that when it comes to meeting deadlines and dealing with hectic schedules, none of us are quiet the perfectionist. Unfortunately, working travellers are tagged as procrastinators and unpunctual more often than anyone working twelve hours in front of the computer. Travelling workers have serious jobs too, which takes just the same amount of work and energy they are allotted deadlines no different than the ones who work at offices.

  2. They are fickle minded and lack motivation
The thought itself is very annoying. Travelling itself requires immense motivation, and to work along with it, is only an added pressure which most travelling workers have been accomplishing gloriously. A travel person may be hasty and impulsive with their personal lives, but a potential worker knows how to demarcate the personal from the professional.

  3. They are capricious and irregular
An experienced traveller who works while travelling knows the things he/she can and cannot afford. Truth be told, travelling requires money and that alone makes them compelled to work hard and be regular with it, so that they can constantly provide for themselves.

  4. They lack the tenacity and zeal it takes for establishing or running an enterprise
There are too many entrepreneurs and managers who travel around the world, while running a full-fledged organization. Moreover, travelling connects them with the wider horizon and they can collect recourses from the best possible places to extend and ameliorate an enterprise.

  5. They are undedicated to their jobs
Wanderers are people just like you and your career conscious circuit, but with a soul that craves for adventures and the world beyond the made up and the concrete. They are as dedicated to their jobs as you are. An explorer has to take his/her job seriously to secure a ground underneath their feet and a roof above their head. It is their dedication to work that gets them going through the thick and thin.

  6. They live a reckless and a utopian life, carefree of responsibilities
If someone manages to work and travel simultaneously, it is indisputable that the person has his priorities sorted. Travelling is not a primrose path of dalliance leading to heavenly escapades. It requires a whole lot of diligence and perseverance to keep things in order.
