Entry Requirements

To enter Cuba as a tourist, you will be with the following documents:
- A passport.
- The tourist card: this is a mandatory form to enter Cuba. Whichever country you came from, you will have purchased and completed this document before landing on the island. The map is not distributed in the plane. Price: around € 22 per person. It is obtained from the consulate, on the spot (you must have your passport and air ticket or a certificate from the airline or travel agency) or by mail (add € 25 when booking fees, all to be paid by certified check by the bank). Some travel agencies are responsible for this step. This card (valid 6 months after issue) is only valid 30 days from your arrival on the island.
Those staying longer than one month may be renewed on site for an additional month (but only once).
- The family visa (A2): it is mandatory to stay in a Cuban family (immediate family only, if not get a tourist card). Must apply to the Cuban consulate. Count about 80 €.
- Travel insurance: a new directive came into force on 1 May 2010 and now requires all travelers - Cuban and foreign - to present documents proving the subscription to a travel insurance policy covering medical costs, " issued by a broker or an organization recognized by the Cuban authorities. "
Travelers who have not taken this precaution before departure must necessarily subscribe to their arrival, with a Cuban agency.

Health insurance

Since 1 May 2010, it is mandatory to have subscribed to a pre-departure medical insurance, if not to endorse it on location at a Cuban agency.

From Cuba

- CAUTION: Plan 25 CUC in cash to the end of your trip. Whatever your departure airport, you will pay this tax after registering your luggage before boarding. If you run more than CUC, you should be able to exchange Euros at the exchange office at the airport.

- Other precision: if your return flight includes a stopover (eg Madrid), know that it is forbidden to carry liquids in passing customs. The bottle of rum bought in duty free will be confiscated! Remains to wrap your purchases and save them in the hold ...
