Entry Requirements

- The visa is not required for citizens of the European Union, the Swiss and the Canadians for tourist stays of less than 90 days in Colombia. Only a valid passport and valid 6 months after the return date is required.

For a stay exceeding 90 days, a visa is required.

- Upon arrival at the airport, an entry stamp (equivalent to the visa) is affixed to the passports upon presentation of the ticket round trip. It allows travelers to stay on Colombian soil up to 90 days.

Customs

At entry into the country, you will be asked to fill out a baggage declaration form and money. Indeed, some items are taxable or subject to health legislation.

Vaccinations

- No compulsory vaccinations, except the one against yellow fever if you come from an area. In addition, universal immunizations (DPT, hepatitis B) are highly recommended, as well as those against typhoid and hepatitis A, possibly against rabies and meningococcal meningitis. Antimalarial treatment is highly recommended if you visit Amazon (classified in zone 3).

Exit formalities

Upon departure on an international flight, you will have to pay an exit tax of U.S. $ 33 if the stay lasted less than two months, U.S. $ 46 if it lasted longer. This tax is payable in cash (U.S. dollars or Colombian pesos). However, the government plans to remove this tax very soon.
