Each year, the Valdes Peninsula is home to hundreds of whales. In June and July, the males compete for the honor of females, larger and fewer, and more than a year later they come back in the water "hot" in the Golfo Nuevo to give birth to their young calf.
The whales are not the most photogenic of the case, it's true, with calluses on their foreheads. But they reserve the enthusiastic tourist boats to make them particularly attractive. Playful, they never tire of coming and going under the Zodiac, real walnut shell compared to their waist! As for the calves, they enslave the figures. As frisky as small sardines, but certainly more impressive, they provide the show with a lot of jumps and stunts of all kinds. Like a peacock spreads its tail, the whales sometimes hold their tail out of water for several handfuls of seconds before letting it fall into a crack which echo fills the gulf, bouncing from one cliff to another.
The trip costs up to threefold, depending on the size of the boat. The Zodiac approaching closer, but in case of rough seas, you may be more comfortable on a bigger boat. The must: the tour at dusk as the agency proposes Moby Dick. The Gulf is empty, and you watch the breath, the ballet of the ladies at sunset ...
